Hope Has a Name [Spoken Word]

Hope has a name.

How do I even begin to describe HIM?

Learned words fails me here, so I turn to THE WORD, and in HIS WORD, Hope comes alive.

Hope lived eternally in the beginning. He was vibrant in the dark void as He hovered over the waters. Out of nothingness, Hope called forth, “Light!” “Oceans!” “Forest!” “Beast!”,  then a Pause: “MAN!”, Hope’s crown in creation.

Hope would birth a nation from one man,  and from this man’s seed, all nations would be blessed. The seed would become Hope, and He has a name.

Hope heard the cries of His people ass they wandered aimlessly through desert places. He led them in a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. He was peace in the lion’s den, the fourth man in the fiery furnace, and the breathe of life as one man waited in the belly of a fish for three days and three nights.

Three days and three nights. I'll come back to that.

Hope came to us in the form of a little baby. Divinity in motion. Grew up to be mighty in words and deed, Son of God, yet also Son of man.

Hope lived as a humble servant, becoming the perfect sacrifice. Hope was Beaten, bruised, nailed to the rugged cross that we might have LIFE. Hope was left for dead in the tomb, but no scheme of man or power of hell could repress Hope. Even three days and three nights in the grave had NOTHING on Him because on that third day, OUR HOPE AND KING ROSE IN VICTORY!

So praise Him for HIS LIFE.

Hope is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation. Hope was before all things and over all things He reigns. Hope has set a date when He will someday return to unite us with Him for all eternity.

O how my heart rejoices in my Lord, my king of Hope. Morning and night, His love and hope whisper my name, reminding me that I am His. This Hope and grace in Him abounds towards me and proves itself to be greater than even my worst sins. Hope has marked me as His own and welcomed me into His Presence. Hope has overwhelmed me with the greatness of His love for I have found mercy and grace at the feet of the cross.

So with a heart filled with hope, I'll choose here to let my words be few.

For the words I speak are not merely words. You see, my words point to THE LIVING WORD, and THE WORD has a name. LOVE has a name. JOY has a name. PEACE has a name. LIFE has a name. HOPE HAS A NAME

And that name is JESUS CHRIST!
