She's always been, "THE ONE"
A little over 5 years ago, I was invited overseas to participate in a leadership development conference in Jos, Nigeria. Upon arrival at our hotel, I walked into the lobby and laid eyes on someONE who immediately took my breath away.
Prior to this moment, I’d been adamant in my teachings about the non-existence of THE ONE. I was convinced that there isn’t just ONE person out there for each person because the math didn’t add up. It would take only one person to pick the wrong, “ONE” and a chain reaction would be set in motion that throws everyone else off. So essentially, “THE ONE” philosophy screws up dating and marriage for everyone…on earth...forever!
And so I thought and taught…. until I walked into that hotel lobby in Jos and saw HER. I can’t explain how I knew, but the moment I laid eyes on Modupe Chisom Aiyegbusi, everything in me cooperated in agreement and I knew she was the girl God had gifted me to spend the rest of my life with. In other words, I immediately knew… (wait for it….) she was THE ONE! That and the fact that she was fiiiinnnnneeeeeee!
It’s five years later from that afternoon in Jos, Nigeria, and I’m all the more certain today that when the Psalmist wrote these words, God intended it for you and I, “…You [O God] saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up,you are still with me!”
