Toys for Nigerian Children

HOW WE’RE CREATING A SENSE OF JOY & DIGNITY.

The goal of this outreach is to provide a “hand up” for families in the city of Jos, Nigeria who want to purchase affordable new toys for their children. While we could easily hand out toys for free, we believe in empowering struggling families by extending to parents the dignity and joy of purchasing discounted toys for their children with their own money. We want parents to be able to hold their head up high in front of their children and say, “I bought this for you, sweetie!”

How Will It Work?

It all starts when YOU generously donate store-bought toys or amazon.com toys on our online WISH LIST. These toys will be delivered to or collected at the offices of Grace Church, Randolph/Bethlehem campus over the course of three weeks (September 1-21). The toys will then be packed into boxes, loaded unto a shipping container and shipped to Nigeria where our local ministry team will reprice each item at a discounted rate for parents to purchase for their children during our outreach program. The proceeds will be reinvested back into the ministry geared toward those same families.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

The rule of thumb when shopping is simple. Think about toys and gifts that would “WOW” little children, brand name toys and gifts that you would give to your own friends or family. This spirit of generosity ensures that the parents we will be reaching out to will have the best, most rewarding shopping experience possible.

• We ask that all donated toys be new and unwrapped.

• The wish list includes a variety of gifts for boys and girls ages 0 to 13.

• Please leave the price tag on the gift if one exists. We will use the retail price to  help determine the new discounted price.

COLLECTION INFORMATION

Toys will be collected from September 1-21, 2020 at the office of  Grace Church, Randolph/Bethlehem campus between 10am and  4pm, Monday to Friday. You can also drop off the toys on Sunday mornings before or after the 10:00am outdoor worship service.
